<h2id="events">Events

The party meets with Captain Ilio at the gate to Castle Ganth, and we learn
about the current status of the scouts.

We talk with some guards, and got some details about the northern towns,
and why everyone is injured. There are consistent attacks from ogres on
the northern towns, and the count is dedicating protections.

We gather some information from some bar patrons about the general vibes
about the count and his assassination. The folks of Ganth, and to the
north, are in favor. The rural areas to the south are less in favor.

Stackor sends Syrup an update.

The party notices a fetchling staring us down at the bar, and Stackor
wanders over to speak with them

He reveals himself to be a representative/agent of Baron Black, and
offers us information about region, the current climate, and some
advice.

The assassination may have been by the populists or cults in the
city

Calcifer has not messed with Ganth

The ogres to the north have rallied behind a king named Mookdoo

All healers are being targeted and killed in the city, even those
in favor of Calcifer

In the evening, we are escorted to the castle by Ilio to dine with the count.
The count shows obvious wounds, but the scouts are present. We dine, and
discuss affairs.

The count suspects one called Hawkman was behind the assassination
attempts, a rancher to the south. The count is very disturbed and angry
about the entire event.

After the meeting, a servant gives us a few more details on the current
issues, and directs us to our chambers in the fort for the evening.

One of the healers, a priest of Abadar, apparently exploded in the
chapel of Abadar. The other healers apparently just disappeared.

Stackor teleports back to Syrup to check-up, with one of the scouts. Sirs
Beet and Tern take up Count-guarding duties.

Syrup asks us to ask the Count for permission to move and camp closer and
to resupply, to find the missing scouts, and to gather any intel on Fort
Rather.

The party, re-gathered in their room in Castle Ganth, are gathered and ready
to pursue their next objectives: asking the Court the questions from Syrup,
and then move north is search of the scouts!

The party leaves, stopping at the library we found on the way in. After some
pittering about, we decide to take out the librarian and get the books we
wish. We make swift work of the weird book and it’s servants. We spend a few
hours gathering books relevant to the Dark Tapestry.

The party returns through the portal to the Boneyard. There, Telemachus greats
us, and makes his way through to the dead planet. A dust mephit eventually
catches up with us, and escorts us back to Nuripites. As per our agreement, we
are given the Rune from Nuripites, and we return to the Runebarrow.

At the Runebarrow, the party returns to Maugrim with the Rune. It imbues some
of us with an ability to guarantee a safe birth a limited number of touches
ever. Maugrim agrees this is sufficient for the bargain. After some
deliberation, we agree that Maugrim shall return the mortal Cayden Caylien to
Sheila G’s temple in Rime.

The party stands in a large, elegant room with several large urns. Before us,
a room lined with mirrors, and a mirrored floor. It is lit from crystals in
the ceiling. Naynay cuddles up to Harvey for protection. We move in. From the
mirror, the reflection of Harvey pulls out it’s own skeleton, and attacks us!
COMBAT!!

We engage two Bloody Bones! They prove to be quite resilient! After several
rounds, we scatter them.

We continue through this hall of mirrors, finding staircases going down to the
left and right, and a staircase going up before us. We go straight, getting to
a featureless square room. It has gotten darker. In the room is nothing,
except a small hole showing the crystal formation from the previous room’s
ceiling.

We head down the stairs, and go right. We arrive in a room with an elegant
sarcophogus in the center of it, and less nice sarcophogi in archways around
the room. The room is dimly lit by braziers of blue flames. A skeleton is
hiding near one of the arches. As we approach, it begins to pull out a gun!
COMBAT!!

The skeleton starts blastin’! The sarcophogus blasts open, and the mummy
Kartooshmagoosh rises. Sheila G and Naynay decide to strike up a
conversation with the skeleton, whose name is Clipper. Gartug pummels the
mummy to dust, and suplexes Clipper into shards.

We decide to move towards the room with the golden pig that Clipper told us
was a red herring. Sheila G approaches the pig. It is sitting, with a slightly
cocked head, and a bit of a smile. Sheila G tries to dislodge and knocks the
pig off it’s pedastal with a thrown javelin. She relents, picks up the pig,
triggering a trap, but then dimensional doors back to the party.

We return and go down the remaining stairwell. There is a large room with an
urn on a pedastal, with one open archway, and one archway with a closed door.
The closed door has a motif of an alligator, missing the lower jaw.
Presumably, attaching the jaw will unlock door. Dan checks the urn, finding
some gold.

We move through the open archway, finding a library with some sort of
magical evil librarian book. Stackor talks with it, and the book insists
that this library of some great necromancer be taken back to our world.
Stackor makes no promises for now, and the book hacks up the missing lower
jaw. We return and move through the alligator door.

We move down corridor, avoiding some traps, before emerging into a room with a
large treasure hoard, and upon it, a dracolich.

THERE WAS A DRAGONFIGHT!!!

Stackor crafts some stuff.

Gartug works as a sailor on the docks.

SG gets roped into dealing with some monsters in Greentown

A few days into our preparation, SG gets notified by the Task Force of
monsters attacking the city, and specifically the Greentown Mob.

SG, Withatwist, and Taliah teleport to the brothel being attacked.
There, they find a bloodbath, including the castrated body of Clive hung
upside-down on a meat-hook. Investigating further, they hear shuffling
upstairs, and checking in they find a Dark Tapestry abomination – COMBAT!!

They swiftly deal with the threat.

Investigating further, they find the office of Carmine, one of the leaders
of the Greentown Mob, and some further evidence. We also find multiple
prostitutes that evidently had the creatures burst from their abdomen.

Stackor and Harvey join the fun.

Taliah takes one of the prostitutes for an autopsy, and returns to her
lab.

Harvey and Stackor investigate, and Harvey finds symbols marked on the
beds. Specifically, they are symbols used to draw the attention of the
Mother of A Thousand Young, Shub’nigguroth. They also investigate
Carmine’s office, finding a hidden room under a trapdoor. Inside are many
more riches, and the body of Carmine, stabbed many times, with her face
cut off.

Withatwist takes Carmine’s body, intending to pay to have her resurrected.

The following day:

Taliah finishes her autospy, determining that the creatures suddenly burst
from the body, and that the victims were otherwise not poisoned.

SG casts blood biography and then speak with dead on Clive

At the insistance of Withatwist, SG raises Carmine (Woman Name) from the
dead. She gives us some information, including the location of Clive’s
study.

Checking on the location, we find a warehouse burned down to cinders.

SG updates the Task Force with everything we’ve learned.

On the last episode of this adventure, our heroes infiltrated Fort Rather, and
fell into a trap! They defeated their adversaries, and then slew some potential
allies, on suspicion of subterfuge and paranoia! We pick up in the hallways of
the slaughter.

We decompose corpse both Salami and Porkshank, and stuff their bones into
Gad’af Sree’s Handy Haversack. We shove the remaining bodies into the broom
closet in the hallway. We all go invisible, and begin to make our way towards
the main keep, and Skylan. We navigate through the walls, and eventually make
our way on to the wall proper. Through our actions, we alert some guards, and
begin some of the enemy forces to look for us with magical assistance. We
dimension door on to the keep towers, and quickly and silently subdue the
crossbow men. We make our way into the keep further, down the tower stairs, and
to the second floor. After some exploration, we decide to check a door, and
reveal an office with several soldiers and other fort members – COMBAT!!
- OJ moves in and stabs one, then Wondermitch icy fireballs the room,
killing the remaining troops.

We lock the door we cam in through, and begin investigating the room. There are
two remaining doors out of this room; we discover they’re locked with an arcane
lock. Checking the paperwork on one desk, we find they are reports about
supplies that have gone missing, and their likely location. Evidently, there are
renegade forces in the mountains. We check through a few more things, and then
investigate the remaining rooms on this floor. One appears to be a barracks, and
the other is an infirmiry; we leave both alone and head downstairs. As we move
forward, our group gets blasted from behind, downing OJ instantly. COMBAT!!
- Our group, severely hampered, dimension doors out of there.

We escape, and make our way back to the safe house. We heal up and consider our
next actions. Wondermitch sends a message to Kaldur, who instructs us to
abandon this mission, and head to Tornach’s Bridge, for the next mission. We
leave Fort Rather, and make our way East.

Last time, we met with Private Mayonayse and enacted a plan to infiltrate Fort
Rather: we bribed the guards of a grain shipment, and assumed their place. We
travel for a bit, and prepare to enact our plan. We give ourselves various
mundane disguises, we have uniforms, we have falsified papers, and we have a
cart of horse feed with a donkey. Boss Dukes will be our face, with OJ and
Twistfuck as our backups.

We get to the town outside the fort, and get to the inner gate without trouble.
We cross a drawbridge and porticulus, and approach 4 guards. Boss Dukes hands
over our papers. One of the guards calls out a sergeant, who is obviously some
kind of corrupted figure, with massive devilish horns. He questions us a bit,
calls over some other troops to handle the grain, and then directs us to the
officer of the watch for a debriefing. We follow his directions to a small
office.

We meet a Lieutenant Flapjack, who is obviously corrupted with various daemonic
parts on him. He asks Boss and Twistfuck to go get him some ink, and grab some
drinks, as he wants to debrief the remaining three of us. He asks us some
preliminary questions, and betrays his intentions plainly enough to OJ: he wants
to murder us and bring our bodies to the pool of Al’Jazeer to be resurrected as
daemonic forces. He strikes at OJ – COMBAT!!
- Flapjack lunges at OJ with his arm full of snakes, biting him a bunch. OJ
retaliates. As the rest of the group catches up, Wondermitch unleashes a
devestating icy fireball, slaying Flapjack and a soldier. As Gad’af Sree
is preparing to enter the fray, a cloaked figure kicks open the door, and
shoots the remaining soldier.
- Meanwhile, down the hall, Boss and Twistfuck get to the supply closet,
opening it to find a large angry daemonic snake monster – COMBAT!!
- Boss gets rekt by the snake monster, while Twistfuck fucks with some
archers in the hallway.
- Combat catches up, and the entire group is now in initiative. After a
challenging fight, we escape without fatalities!

After the combat, we briefly discuss with our inside supporters: Sergeant Salami
and soldier Porkshank. Salami is frustrated at this attack, and has forces
inside the fort which are primed to help Syrup take the fort. The party is
rather adamant to continue their mission. Wondermitch sends a message to
Kaldur, who urges us to kill and burn Salami and Porkshank. We follow-through
with that decision; Salami and Porkshank are no more.

We call it here for the evening. Take note: we need to dispose completely of the
bodies we slay, or they will be brought back in the pool!
