## Current Objectives
- Establish a viable route from the interior to the Far Territories for the army
## Events
- After saving Jack from the wights, we continue forward. We head towards where the miners generally don't go. As we approach, we find a straw pallet with a dissected corpse. There are various vials and jars surrounding the corpse. There is a coin purse, along with several notes and a coil of grey rope, in a small cubby near the pallet. At the foot of the corpse is a book.
- Smokey takes the coin purse; there is 12 gold in it. He also takes a coil of rope.
- Stackor investigates the book. It is written in Aklo. It talks about some kind of ritual, mentioning corpses and stars. It will require more research.
- Stackor also investigates the notes, also written in Aklo. It's a journal, detailing ambitions to leverage the Dark Tapestry for revenge. The notes are in a different handwritting than the book.
- Investigating the corpse, it has been freshly murdered and cut open; sometime between 24 and 48 hours ago.
- Heading the other way, we find where the miners were working. Here we find a cage, with a canary inside. The canary is clearly undead, and aggressive.
- Sir Tern murders the bird with a Lay on Hands.
- We return top-side, and update Jack Flint.
- He provides us with the contact for the undertaker, Garfield.
- Sir Tern gathers up the dissected corpse, as well as the remaining non-wight corpses, onto a cart, and we head to Garfield's.
- As we approach Garfield's place, we hear hysterical laughter from nearby. Sir Tern stays to guard the corpses while the remainder of the group goes to investigate.
- The group heads towards the laughter. Stackor notices smoke coming from a dark house. He casts _knock_, and inside the group finds a terrified family. A boy wielding a broom handle, and a man in a night shirt wielding a sword, rush towards the party to defend their home.
- The group left the family alone and returned to Garfield's.
- While the group was home-invading, Sir Tern met with Garfield. Garfield seemingly assumed Sir Tern had murdered all these people, and hurridly moved the corpses into his cottage. As we discussed more, the remainder of the party joined.
- Garfield has a lot of taxidermied (and partially) animals. He also has a number of nooses. One of them has a monkey's skeleton hanging in it.
- Garfield cannot identify the corpse, and looks somewhat horrified at it's appearance. He suggests asking the mine foreman, Pate or Jack Flint.
- Generally speaking, Garfield is a suspicious man, and certainly worth some additional investigation. Smokey buys the monkey skeleton from him.
- We take our corpses and head to Pate's Estate. The guards welcome us in, and notify us that Pate is awake, but the mine foreman doesn't stay here, and that Jack Flint is currently recovering.
- We are escorted into a sitting room. A butler offers us "Yah-yah bush" tea; Smokey gladly accepts.
- Pate joins us, and is immediately taken aback by Stackor's appearance.
- Pate evidently killed the previous owners of the mine, who were "inbred and dangerous" dwarves. He thought we may be here to kill him. He explained that he killed the dwarves about 1.5-2 years ago. He has been having bad dreams for the past week.
- Pate's suffering from some derangement. He probably has significant CHA drain from the bad dreams. Regardless, he's able to identify all the miners and the desicrated corpse, one Bruce.
- Sir Beet _lesser restores_ Pate's CHA damage, and he regains a degree of sanity. He explains a bit more about current circumstances.
- I think some other stuff happened here... We talked with Sister Clemence about something. And we got the non-desicrated corpses to Garfields for processing.
